Third Annual Northern California Fly Tying Expo
Another Expo Success !!!!!
The “Third Annual Northern California Fly Tying Expo” was a huge success. Many thanks to all the tyers and volunteers. Turtle Bay registered over 900 attendees over the two days, almost 50% more than last year. This event is growing every year with many of the visiting tyers already making plans for next year’s event. Here are some of their comments:
“Your event has become one that I look forward to attending each year and I'm pleased to be on the invite-list. Everyone else I talked to all weekend seemed to feel the same...so it'll probably be even better next year. I look forward to seeing you again then.”
“Thank you and everyone that worked so hard to make "us out of towners" feel welcome. Plus thanks for a spectacular weekend and the stellar hospitality. O' yes…. the food was out of this world.”
"Just wanted to let you know that Scotty and I had a great time at the show. Apparently I was also on the KCRA news on Sat night at 11 PM (Kazmerick mentioned it at breakfast). We didn’t make the dinner because the fishing was so good in the evening we were giddy with laughter from catching so many fish (I will send a photo later). Black, size 12, caddis, dry, the last two hours before dark at Cascade Park on Girvan Road. I really like the event since it really caters to families and kids.”
"Excellent Expo. The program and the manner in which you host all the visiting tyers are exemplary. You and your committee definitely run a ‘class act’. Your programs for getting young people involved were well received, and important if us ‘old timers’ want to leave a legacy of young folk who are interested in watershed protection, conservation, and restoration! I hope to be able to participate in the future.”
“Talked with Ken Burnskill (president of Northern Council NCFFF) this evening. He was very impressed with the entire program this weekend. Well organized. Job well done! Thanks for all you did to make it a success.”
My heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped put this on and attended!!
